AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4236

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4236 on page 5, by
3replacing lines 5 through 9 with the following:
4"elected to, an elective public office. Notwithstanding the
5other provisions of this subsection (b-6), a person convicted
6of: (1) a felony that is a sex offense; or (2) a felony in
7which the victim of the offense is a peace officer, is
8ineligible to be nominated for, and elected to, an elective
9public office.
10    As used in this subsection (b-6):
11    "Elective public office" means an office for which a
12person is elected that has been created by the Constitution of
13this State, a law of this State, or a county or municipal
14ordinance or referendum.
15    "Peace officer" has the meaning given the term in Section
162-13 of the Criminal Code of 2012.
17    "Sex offense" has the meaning given the term in Section 2
18of the Sex Offender Registration Act.".
