| 5 | | Sec. 6.14i. Out-of-network patient transfers. |
| 6 | | (a) Upon request by a patient, a hospital must transfer |
| 7 | | the patient to the requested health care facility, regardless |
| 8 | | of whether the facility is part of the hospital's health care |
| 9 | | network. |
| 10 | | (b) A hospital may not implement a policy that prohibits |
| 11 | | the transfer of patients outside of the hospital's health care |
| 12 | | network. |
| 13 | | (c) A hospital may not retaliate or take any adverse |
| 14 | | action against an employee or agent of the hospital, including |
| 15 | | a physician, who facilitates the out-of-network transfer of a |
| 16 | | patient.". |
