| 1 | | AN ACT concerning appropriations. |
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
| 4 | | Section 5. The sum of $20,000,000, or so much thereof as |
| 5 | | may be necessary, is appropriated from the Capital Projects |
| 6 | | Fund to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity |
| 7 | | for expenses associated with the restoration of the property |
| 8 | | formerly operated as the Joliet Correctional Center, including |
| 9 | | but not limited to, site preparation, environmental |
| 10 | | assessments, demolition of existing structures, environmental |
| 11 | | remediation, site stabilization activities, site restoration |
| 12 | | activities, and other work directly related to the demolition |
| 13 | | process, as deemed necessary to support infrastructure renewal |
| 14 | | and development, including prior year costs. |
| 15 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, |
| 16 | | 2026. |
