2025 and 2026 HB4898 Introduced , by Rep. Maurice A. West, II SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED: | | | Amends the Department of Human Services Act. Provides that all moneys payable from funds appropriated to the Department of Human Services in State Fiscal Year 2027 for assisted outpatient treatment related projects shall be distributed by the Department evenly across the 25 judicial circuit court jurisdictions. Provides that preference shall be given to projects that work to expand access or success for assisted outpatient treatment projects working with: (1) people who have a serious mental illness; or (2) the judicial circuit courts to assist those who are part of an assisted outpatient treatment program as a result of a court order. Effective July 1, 2026. |

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning State government. |
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
| 4 | | Section 5. The Department of Human Services Act is amended |
| 5 | | by adding Section 10-85 as follows: |
| 6 | | (20 ILCS 1305/10-85 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 10-85. Fiscal Year 2027 funds for assisted outpatient |
| 8 | | treatment projects. All moneys payable from funds appropriated |
| 9 | | to the Department in State Fiscal Year 2027 for assisted |
| 10 | | outpatient treatment related projects shall be distributed by |
| 11 | | the Department evenly across the 25 judicial circuit court |
| 12 | | jurisdictions. Preference shall be given to projects that work |
| 13 | | to expand access or success for assisted outpatient treatment |
| 14 | | projects working with: |
| 15 | | (1) people who have a serious mental illness; or |
| 16 | | (2) the judicial circuit courts to assist those who |

| 19 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, |
