Requires a municipality that receives water from Lake Michigan to use the revenue from the sale of the water from Lake Michigan for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's drinking water infrastructure. Requires a municipality that receives water from Lake Michigan to follow guidance published by the American Water Works Association when establishing the rates at which the municipality sells the water from Lake Michigan. |

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning waterways. |
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
| 4 | | Section 5. The Level of Lake Michigan Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 15 as follows: |
| 6 | | (615 ILCS 50/15 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 15. Sale of water from Lake Michigan by |
| 8 | | municipalities. A municipality that receives water from Lake |
| 9 | | Michigan shall use the revenue from the sale of the water from |
| 10 | | Lake Michigan for the operation and maintenance of the |
| 11 | | municipality's drinking water infrastructure. |
| 12 | | A municipality that receives water from Lake Michigan |
| 13 | | shall follow guidance published by the American Water Works |
| 14 | | Association when establishing the rates at which the |
