HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the 8th Infantry Illinois 
4National Guard Association on its 50th anniversary on March 
521, 2025; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The 8th Infantry Illinois National Guard 
7Association is a non-profit 501(C)(19) organization 
8established on March 21, 1975 for charitable and educational 
9purposes to promote the history and legacy of the 8th Illinois 
10Infantry Regiment of the Illinois National Guard and serve 
11current service members and their families; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The 8th Infantry Illinois National Guard 
13Association's core activities are keeping the history and 
14legacy of the regiment alive through presentations in 
15classrooms within Chicago area public high schools and the 
16Illinois National Guard's Lincoln Challenge Academy; and
 
17    WHEREAS, The 8th Infantry Illinois National Guard 
18Association has consistently participated in the annual Bud 
19Billiken Back to School Parade and taken part in interviews 
20with print, radio, and television organizations to further 
21promote the history and legacy of the 8th Illinois Infantry 
22Regiment; and

1    WHEREAS, The 8th Infantry Illinois National Guard 
2Association has worked with the DuSable Black History Museum 
3and Education Center and the Pritzker Military Library and 
4Museum to commemorate the Centennial of World War I and the 
5rededication of the Victory Monument and the General Jones 
6Armory; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
8HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
9we congratulate the 8th Infantry Illinois National Guard 
10Association on its 50th anniversary; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented the 8th Infantry Illinois National Guard Association 
13as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
