| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to recognize Dr. Johnny D. Jones for his | ||||||
| 4 | outstanding service, dedication, and leadership in advancing | ||||||
| 5 | the mission of the ASVAB CEP and enhancing the career | ||||||
| 6 | exploration journey of countless students in Illinois; and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery | ||||||
| 8 | Career Exploration Program (ASVAB CEP) has served as a vital | ||||||
| 9 | tool for enhancing career exploration and readiness among | ||||||
| 10 | students across Illinois; and | ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, The ASVAB CEP empowers students to discover their | ||||||
| 12 | strengths, aptitudes, and career interests, facilitating | ||||||
| 13 | informed decisions about their educational and professional | ||||||
| 14 | paths; and | ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, The program contributes to the development of | ||||||
| 16 | well-rounded citizens by promoting critical thinking, | ||||||
| 17 | self-awareness, and preparedness for meaningful contributions | ||||||
| 18 | to their communities and society; and | ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, The ASVAB CEP fosters partnerships among schools, | ||||||
| 20 | educators, and military and community organizations, creating | ||||||
| 21 | opportunities for collaboration and support in advancing | ||||||

| 1 | student success and workforce readiness; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Dr. Johnny D. Jones, Education Services | ||||||
| 3 | Specialist at the Chicago Military Entrance Processing Station | ||||||
| 4 | (MEPS), has demonstrated exemplary leadership and dedication | ||||||
| 5 | in promoting the ASVAB CEP throughout Illinois, tirelessly | ||||||
| 6 | working with educational systems to expand the program's reach | ||||||
| 7 | and impact; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Dr. Jones has played a pivotal role in | ||||||
| 9 | coordinating outreach efforts, building partnerships, and | ||||||
| 10 | implementing innovative strategies to enhance career | ||||||
| 11 | exploration opportunities for students of all backgrounds; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Dr. Jones' commitment to the ASVAB CEP aligns | ||||||
| 13 | with the values of civic engagement, educational equity, and | ||||||
| 14 | workforce development that strengthen the state of Illinois | ||||||
| 15 | and its citizens; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 17 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 18 | we recognize Dr. Johnny D. Jones for his outstanding service, | ||||||
| 19 | dedication, and leadership in advancing the mission of the | ||||||
| 20 | ASVAB CEP and enhancing the career exploration journey of | ||||||
| 21 | countless students in Illinois; and be it further | ||||||

| 5 | RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to | ||||||
| 6 | Dr. Jones as a testament to his invaluable contributions to | ||||||
