HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Chris
4Glover, who passed away on February 7, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Chris Glover was born in Brinkley, Arkansas to
6Mae Alice Sims and Hugh Glover on October 8, 1940; he joined
7the U.S. Army in July of 1958 and was assigned to the USAMC
8(Army Medical Logistics Command) in Germany; he received an
9Honorable Discharge on June 30, 1964 and earned his GED while
10in the service; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Chris Glover settled in Chicago, where he held
12various jobs, including engine maintenance for the Illinois
13Central Railroad, bartender, bar and lounge manager, and taxi
14driver; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Chris Glover retired and moved into Haven Tower
16in Chicago, where he met a number of new acquaintances and
17cherished friends; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Chris Glover is survived by his brothers, Otis
19and George Gilmore; his sister-in-law, Doris Glover; his
20nephew, Reginald (Dee) Glover; his nieces, Denita Hartzog,
21Valmy (Thomas) Hartzog-Powell, Keisha Gilmore, and LaTonya

1Gilmore; and a number of grandnephews and grandnieces;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
4HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5we mourn the passing of Chris Glover and extend our sincere
6condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
7him; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Chris Glover as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
