HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the St. Jude Catholic 
4School 8th grade boys basketball team on winning the 2024-2025 
5Class 8-1A Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) State 
6Championship; and
 
7    WHEREAS, St. Jude won the championship in Warrensburg on 
8February 20, 2025; and
 
9    WHEREAS, The IESA hosts 19 state final events each year, 
10representing over 500,000 student-athletes participating in 
11activities across Illinois; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The members of the St. Jude Catholic School 8th 
13grade boys basketball team are Eamon Lynch, John Alvino, 
14Damian Delgado, Paxton Strader, Ezra Strickler, Dylan Crank, 
15Jack Westerberg, Drew Khoury, and Brady Miller; and
 
16    WHEREAS, St. Jude is led by Head Coach Jim Lynch and 
17Assistant Coach Caleb Strader, Assistant Coach Ryan Miller, 
18and Assistant Coach John Strickler; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Winning a state championship in Illinois 
20showcases the dedication and commitment that a team must

1exhibit to reach such a high level of success; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Every team begins the season with the objective 
3of winning a state championship, and St. Jude has achieved 
4that goal; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we congratulate the St. Jude Catholic School 8th grade boys 
8basketball team on winning the 2024-2025 Class 8-1A Illinois 
9Elementary School Association State Championship; and be it 
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
12presented to the St. Jude players and coaches as a symbol of 
13our respect and esteem.
