| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Larry Forssberg on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement as economic development director of | ||||||
| 5 | the Village of Westmont; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Larry Forssberg was instrumental in the creation | ||||||
| 7 | of the Westmont Economic Development Partnership in 2013, and | ||||||
| 8 | he subsequently took on the role of economic development | ||||||
| 9 | director; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Larry Forssberg has been an invaluable part of | ||||||
| 11 | the Village of Westmont and DuPage County for the past 20 | ||||||
| 12 | years, and his contributions have made him an integral figure | ||||||
| 13 | in the community; as president of the Westmont Chamber of | ||||||
| 14 | Commerce and Tourism Bureau, he has played a crucial role in | ||||||
| 15 | its growth, particularly through the development of | ||||||
| 16 | specialized committees and the expansion of its membership | ||||||
| 17 | base; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Larry Forssberg's engagement extends beyond the | ||||||
| 19 | Westmont Chamber of Commerce, connecting with local residents | ||||||
| 20 | through the Westmont Citizens' Police Academy, the Westmont | ||||||
| 21 | Citizens' Fire Academy, the Rotary Club of Westmont, and the | ||||||
| 22 | Westmont Lions Club; he also created the Westmont Auto Mile | ||||||

| 1 | Committee to connect and promote the area's car dealerships; | ||||||
| 2 | and | ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Larry Forssberg serves on the board of directors | ||||||
| 4 | for the DuPage Convention and Visitors Bureau, where he | ||||||
| 5 | advocates for all communities within DuPage County, and he is | ||||||
| 6 | also a member of the Chamber of Commerce Executives and the | ||||||
| 7 | West Suburban Chamber of Commerce Executives; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Larry Forssberg remains actively involved in his | ||||||
| 9 | home community of Riverside, where he is a dedicated member of | ||||||
| 10 | the Friends of the Library and previously served on the | ||||||
| 11 | Riverside Economic Development Commission; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Larry Forssberg has | ||||||
| 13 | remained committed to Illinois, working across various | ||||||
| 14 | associations with a focus on strengthening his local | ||||||
| 15 | communities; and | ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Larry Forssberg has been a tremendous asset to | ||||||
| 17 | the Village of Westmont, and his leadership, dedication, and | ||||||
| 18 | service will be deeply missed as he enters retirement; | ||||||
| 19 | therefore, be it | ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 21 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
