HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Pompeyo Florez on the
4occasion of his 100th birthday; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Pompeyo Florez was born in Pueblo, Colorado to
6Tranquilino and Delphina Navarro Campos Florez on April 10,
71925; he attended Creiger and Crane High Schools in Chicago;
8he served in the U.S. Army as a private first class with the
9military police from September of 1943 to February of 1946; he
10married Violetta Marie Avon Castillo Florez at St. Francis
11Church in Chicago on July 6, 1947; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Pompeyo Florez worked as a baker with the Nabisco
13Company and as a bus driver for Reavis High School; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Pompeyo Florez had a great passion for his wife,
15Violetta; the two would dance in the evenings after dinner
16with the children watching, often to their favorite songs,
17which included "At Last" and "Misty"; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Pompeyo Florez enjoyed running, swimming, tennis,
19racquetball, walking, and camping with his children; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Pompeyo Florez is the father to Rory, Robin,

1Derek, Scott, Michelle, Caprice, Allison, and Daria and the
2brother to Cirilo Campos, Lawrence Campos, Salvador Campos,
3Monica Campos, and Carmen Dale Florez; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6we congratulate Pompeyo Florez on the occasion of his 100th
7birthday, and we wish many more wonderful years; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to Pompeyo Florez as an expression of our esteem and
11respect.
