HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Knights of Columbus 
4Chicago Heights Council #997 on its 120 years of service; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The Knights of Columbus, the world's largest 
6Catholic fraternal service organization, was named in honor of 
7Christopher Columbus and was founded in the United States in 
81882; and
 
9    WHEREAS, The Knights of Columbus are informed by its four 
10core principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism; 
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Knights of Columbus Chicago Heights Council #997 
13was formed by the men of Our Lady of the Heights Parish at the 
14St. Kiernan and the St. Agnes worship sites in Chicago Heights 
15on April 23, 1905; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Knights of Columbus Chicago Heights Council #997 
17carries out service work for the good of the community by 
18promoting Catholic education and supporting community 
19organizations that help others; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Knights of Columbus Chicago Heights Council #997

1will celebrate its 120th anniversary on April 12, 2025; 
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
4HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate the members of Knights of Columbus Chicago 
6Heights Council #997 on achieving and providing 120 years of 
7service to their community; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Knights of Columbus Chicago Heights Council #997 
10as an expression of our respect and esteem.
