HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Taylor VanDeVoorde on the 
4occasion of her selection as an Outstanding Senior in the 
5Division of Animal Sciences in the College of Agriculture, 
6Food and Natural Resources at the University of Missouri; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Taylor VanDeVoorde, the daughter of David and 
8Sandra VanDeVoorde, hails from Geneseo, where she volunteered 
9at the Henry County Humane Society for several years before 
10enrolling at the University of Missouri, majoring in Animal 
11Sciences and minoring in Captive Wild Animal Management; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Taylor VanDeVoorde served as a student teaching 
13assistant at University of Missouri in Introductory Zoology 
14and Introductory Animal Sciences and Careers in Animal 
15Sciences, and she also served as a research assistant at the 
16National Swine Research Center and the Department of 
17Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health at the University of 
18Missouri; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Taylor VanDeVoorde served as a student research 
20fellow at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park in Escondido, 
21California from May 2024 through August 2024; she also served 
22as a student research intern at the University of Missouri

1Extension, collecting data and researching organic 
2fertilizers, and her duties included giving a lecture on 
3organic fertilizers in hydroponics; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Taylor VanDeVoorde, as her senior internship, 
5served as a reproductive scientist at the San Diego Zoo 
6Wildlife Alliance, which gave her a glimpse of her dream job of 
7working as a reproductive scientist at a conservation 
8organization; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Through these opportunities and her coursework, 
10Taylor VanDeVoorde has been given a solid foundation in a 
11number of key areas, including reproductive physiology, 
12endocrinology, animal nutrition, and basic physiology and 
13anatomy, and her hands-on experiences in research have 
14provided her with unique opportunities to gain skills in 
15animal care and embryology; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Taylor VanDeVoorde has had tremendous 
17opportunities and successes as an Animal Sciences major at the 
18University of Missouri; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
20HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
21we congratulate Taylor VanDeVoorde on being named Outstanding 
22Senior in the Division of Animal Sciences in the College of

2Missouri, and we wish her continued success; and be it further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to Taylor VanDeVoorde as an expression of our esteem
