HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Charles 
4Daniel "Chuck" Acasili, who passed away on April 16, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Chuck Acasili was born in the Philippines on 
6September 10, 1985; when he was nine months old, he immigrated 
7with his family to Chicago, Illinois; at the age of nine, he 
8and his family moved to Glenview; he graduated from Glenbrook 
9South High School in 2003, where he ran track and cross 
10country; he attended Oakton Community College and the 
11University of Illinois Chicago; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Chuck Acasili began serving as a volunteer coach 
13for the track and field and cross country programs at 
14Glenbrook South High School in 2006, providing nearly 20 years 
15of service; he was always present at practices and meets with a 
16stopwatch and a clipboard in hand, keeping records and stats, 
17making sure runners were on time and organized, and helping 
18with the scheduling and operations of big meets; he remained 
19dedicated to his coaching duties despite any personal 
20hardships he faced; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Chuck Acasili served as a mentor to many young 
22men in the track and field and cross country programs at

1Glenbrook South High School, offering them inspiration in 
2overcoming their own personal struggles and helping them deal 
3with some of the many issues teenagers face; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Chuck Acasili was honored by Glenbrook South High 
5School when it renamed its track and field program's Most 
6Spirited Award as the Coach Chuck Most Spirited Award; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Chuck Acasili always maintained a positive spirit 
8and solid work ethic through any obstacles he encountered in 
9life; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Chuck Acasili was the son of Virgilio and the 
11late Aida Acasili, the brother of Charlene (Philip) Millan, 
12and the uncle of Iris; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
14HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
15we mourn the passing of Charles Daniel "Chuck" Acasili and 
16extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all 
17who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
19presented to the family of Chuck Acasili as an expression of 
20our deepest sympathy.
