HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Tyrone
4Haymore of Robbins; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tyrone Haymore earned degrees from Northeastern
6Illinois University and Thornton Junior College, and he was a
7scholar of African American culture, history, and political
8science; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Tyrone Haymore served as executive director,
10curator, and historian of the Robbins Historical Society,
11preserving the history of Robbins with unmatched dedication,
12passion, and purpose for over 26 years; his leadership led to
13the opening of the Robbins History Museum on August 28, 2010, a
14milestone achievement that gave voice to a village rich in
15African American excellence and cultural contributions; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Tyrone Haymore was also a devoted public servant,
17having served as a village clerk and trustee of the Village of
18Robbins for nearly three decades; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Tyrone Haymore was a beloved community pillar,
20educator, and advocate known for his deep knowledge,
21unwavering pride in Robbins, and commitment to telling the

1truth through history; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Tyrone Haymore will be remembered for his
3dedication and commitment to preserving the histories and the
4stories of the people of Robbins; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
6HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
7we mourn the passing of Tyrone Haymore and extend our sincere
8condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
9him; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Tyrone Haymore as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
