HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Michael
4J. "Mike" McBride of North Chicago, who passed away on May 14,
52025; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Mike McBride was born in Waukegan to Mae Berta
7Poole and William LaVonno on October 1, 1944; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mike McBride worked for Chrysler for over 40
9years and was a hard and dedicated worker; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mike McBride had a lifelong passion for cars; at
11just 14 years old, he purchased his first antique car,
12igniting a hobby that lasted decades; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mike McBride was a man of character, quiet
14strength, and deep faith, which was the cornerstone of his
15life; although quiet by nature, he had a remarkable gift for
16making everyone feel uniquely loved, seen, and heard; he was
17the anchor of his family; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mike McBride was preceded in death by his
19grandparents, Postel and Rosie Mayfield; his parents; his
20uncles, William and Rayburn Mayfield; his aunt, Pearl

1Medley-Mayfield; his sisters, Delphine Snowden, Darlene
2Booker, and Therese Price; his brothers, Daryl Lee and Floyd
3Booker; and his son, Michael "Snip" McBride (Lacarr Ricks);

5    WHEREAS, Mike McBride is survived by his wife, Joanna
6McBride, and their children, Denise (Terrance) Pope, Michelle
7McBride, Normajean Rogers, and Cathy McBride; his children,
8Kim Gray and Saundra Phifer; his grandchildren, Javon and
9Laquion McBride, Shanelle, Kavon, and Delon McBride, Isaiah
10Rogers, Wondrell and Wandreeka McBride, and Lonknieka Howard;
1124 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren;
12his siblings, Jeffrey (Kim) McBride, Edra Stewart, Claudean
13Thompson, and Larry Booker; his aunt, Gloria Carr; his uncle,
14John Mayfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended
15family; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
17HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
18we mourn the passing of Michael J. "Mike" McBride and extend
19our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who
20knew and loved him; and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Mike McBride as an expression of our
23deepest sympathy.
