HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Denise 
4Richardson of the Village of Carpentersville Board of 
5Trustees, who passed away on March 8, 2025; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Trustee Richardson was raised in Elgin, 
7graduating from Elgin High School in 1983 and studying human 
8services and counseling at Elgin Community College; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Trustee Richardson was the former general manager 
10of Spring Hill Mall in West Dundee/Carpentersville, a position 
11she held from October 2021 until its closure in March 2024; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Trustee Richardson was appointed to the Village 
13of Carpentersville Board of Trustees by Village President John 
14Skillman in 2023, filling the seat left vacant by John 
15O'Sullivan after he was hired as village manager; at the time 
16of her passing, her term was to conclude in May; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Trustee Richardson was a valued member of the 
18Village of Carpentersville Board of Trustees since her 
19appointment; during her tenure, she made a positive impact on 
20the village and served as an advocate for residents and 
21businesses alike; and

1    WHEREAS, Trustee Richardson was a devoted mother and a 
2tough person who possessed a tender heart and radiated joy and 
3laughter; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Trustee Richardson will be remembered as a 
5dedicated public servant of the Village of Carpentersville; 
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
8HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
9we mourn the passing of Denise Richardson of the Village of 
10Carpentersville Board of Trustees and extend our sincere 
11condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
12her; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to the family of Trustee Richardson as an expression 
15of our deepest sympathy.
