HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Morgan
4Dubiel of Niles, who passed away on August 24, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel was born in Chicago on January 5,
61967; he met his future wife, Leslie, as a student at the
7University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and they married in
81995 and eventually settled in Niles; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel owned and operated a local
10construction business; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel served on the Niles-Maine District
12Library Board of Trustees for more than 12 years, where during
13his term as president, the library won two government
14transparency awards, expanded its services, implemented a
15million-dollar tax cut, and eliminated all library debt; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel served on the Niles Planning and
17Zoning Board for 13 years, where he was finance chairman for
18more than two years, and he served as a Niles village trustee
19since April 1, 2023; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel was a founding member of Niles

1Crime Stoppers; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel enjoyed exploring and hiking
3through the woods and the North Branch of the Chicago River
4with his family; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel was a faithful member of the Church
6of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving as a stake
7president and helping oversee church programs in several
8individual congregations, and his love of service was
9demonstrated through his dedication to his family and to the
10Village of Niles; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel is survived by his wife, Leslie,
12and his children, Logan, Arden, and Caleb; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
14HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
15we mourn the passing of Morgan Dubiel and extend our sincere
16condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
17him; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Morgan Dubiel as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
