| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Morgan | ||||||
| 4 | Dubiel of Niles, who passed away on August 24, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel was born in Chicago on January 5, | ||||||
| 6 | 1967; he met his future wife, Leslie, as a student at the | ||||||
| 7 | University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and they married in | ||||||
| 8 | 1995 and eventually settled in Niles; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel owned and operated a local | ||||||
| 10 | construction business; and | ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel served on the Niles-Maine District | ||||||
| 12 | Library Board of Trustees for more than 12 years, where during | ||||||
| 13 | his term as president, the library won two government | ||||||
| 14 | transparency awards, expanded its services, implemented a | ||||||
| 15 | million-dollar tax cut, and eliminated all library debt; and | ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel served on the Niles Planning and | ||||||
| 17 | Zoning Board for 13 years, where he was finance chairman for | ||||||
| 18 | more than two years, and he served as a Niles village trustee | ||||||
| 19 | since April 1, 2023; and | ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel was a founding member of Niles | ||||||

| 1 | Crime Stoppers; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel enjoyed exploring and hiking | ||||||
| 3 | through the woods and the North Branch of the Chicago River | ||||||
| 4 | with his family; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel was a faithful member of the Church | ||||||
| 6 | of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving as a stake | ||||||
| 7 | president and helping oversee church programs in several | ||||||
| 8 | individual congregations, and his love of service was | ||||||
| 9 | demonstrated through his dedication to his family and to the | ||||||
| 10 | Village of Niles; and | ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Morgan Dubiel is survived by his wife, Leslie, | ||||||
| 12 | and his children, Logan, Arden, and Caleb; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 14 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 15 | we mourn the passing of Morgan Dubiel and extend our sincere | ||||||
| 16 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
| 17 | him; and be it further | ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to the family of Morgan Dubiel as an expression of | ||||||
| 20 | our deepest sympathy. | ||||||
