HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ryan Roy 
4Whitehouse, who passed away on September 24, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse was born in Normal on November 
614, 1981; he was raised on a farm in Arrowsmith; he graduated 
7from Ridgeview High School, where he served as senior class 
8president; he received a Bachelor of Science in Politics and 
9Government from Illinois State University; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse served as the government and 
11public affairs director for the McLean County Chamber of 
12Commerce from 2007 to 2013; he then served as the associate 
13director of national legislation & policy for the Illinois 
14Farm Bureau until June 2019 when he was named the associate 
15director of local government & political engagement; he was 
16currently serving as director of national legislation for the 
17Illinois Farm Bureau, where he developed and implemented 
18Allies in Agriculture, a local engagement program with the 
19goal of encouraging the network of county Farm Bureaus to 
20engage with their local elected and appointed officials; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse was a deacon of his church and a 
22member of the Arrowsmith Town Board in his earlier years; he

1served on the board of directors for the Illinois State 
2University Central Illinois Young Alumni and on the boards of 
3the American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities (ALSAC) and 
4the St. Jude Bloomington-Normal to Peoria Run; he was 
5chairperson of the St. Jude Run/Walk Committee, the 
6Bloomington-Normal Economic Development Council, and the 
7Connect Transit Board of Trustees; he was also a member of the 
8Edgar Fellows Program, class of 2023; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse enjoyed running and biking, 
10completing several half marathons and triathlons, and working 
11alongside his father and siblings on various projects; he was 
12known for his rice krispy treats and buffalo chicken dip; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse dedicated his entire life to 
14community service and his family, touching the hearts of 
15everyone he met; he will be remembered for his leadership, his 
16laughter, and the immense love he had for his family and 
17friends; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse was preceded in death by his 
19father, William; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his 
20uncle, Charles; and his cousin, Casey; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Ryan Whitehouse is survived by his mother, 
22Michelle; his siblings, Mike, Mindy, Wayne, and Craig (Amy);

1his nieces and nephews, Cory, Eve, Matthew, Hunter, Brandt, 
2Dawson, and Mikey; his goddaughter, Avery Ummel; his uncle, 
3Bill Marc; and many cousins; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
5HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6we mourn the passing of Ryan Roy Whitehouse and extend our 
7sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew 
8and loved him; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Ryan Whitehouse as an expression of 
11our deepest sympathy.
