| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Luke |
| 4 | | Martin Stremlau of Normal, who passed away on October 11, |
| 5 | | 2025; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau, the son of Martin and Lucy (Untz) |
| 7 | | Stremlau, was born in Bloomington on November 29, 1982; he |
| 8 | | earned an associate's degree from Heartland Community College; |
| 9 | | and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau previously worked at Keplr Vision |
| 11 | | in Bloomington before serving as executive director of the |
| 12 | | Bloomington Election Commission, first being appointed in |
| 13 | | September 2022; during his tenure, he was noted for being |
| 14 | | thorough and meticulous, stressing teamwork with his staff, |
| 15 | | valuing their consistency and relationships with each other, |
| 16 | | and working hard to help maintain the integrity of elections |
| 17 | | for the voters of the City of Bloomington; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau was an active bagpiper and |
| 19 | | previously served as pipe major of Celtic Cross Pipes and |
| 20 | | Drums, who performed a tribute at his visitation in honor of |
| 21 | | his years with the group; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau was an avid photographer and |
| 2 | | collector, and he found beauty in timeless aesthetics; he |
| 3 | | especially loved tiki art and culture, often wearing his |
| 4 | | signature Hawaiian shirts and being surrounded by his |
| 5 | | collection of tiki mugs, which was a reflection of his joyful, |
| 6 | | easygoing spirit; and |
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau was a devoted uncle, a loyal |
| 8 | | friend, and a kind soul who made those around him feel valued |
| 9 | | and heard; he was known for his intellect, integrity, and |
| 10 | | service to his community; he will be remembered for his gentle |
| 11 | | nature, humility, and quiet strength; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau was preceded in death by his |
| 13 | | father; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau is survived by his mother, Lucy |
| 15 | | Williams; his siblings, Katie (Brandon) Burnette and Timothy |
| 16 | | Stremlau; and his nephew and niece, Benjamin Burnette and Cece |
| 17 | | Stremlau; therefore, be it |
| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 19 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
