HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Luke
4Martin Stremlau of Normal, who passed away on October 11,
52025; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau, the son of Martin and Lucy (Untz)
7Stremlau, was born in Bloomington on November 29, 1982; he
8earned an associate's degree from Heartland Community College;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau previously worked at Keplr Vision
11in Bloomington before serving as executive director of the
12Bloomington Election Commission, first being appointed in
13September 2022; during his tenure, he was noted for being
14thorough and meticulous, stressing teamwork with his staff,
15valuing their consistency and relationships with each other,
16and working hard to help maintain the integrity of elections
17for the voters of the City of Bloomington; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau was an active bagpiper and
19previously served as pipe major of Celtic Cross Pipes and
20Drums, who performed a tribute at his visitation in honor of
21his years with the group; and

1    WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau was an avid photographer and
2collector, and he found beauty in timeless aesthetics; he
3especially loved tiki art and culture, often wearing his
4signature Hawaiian shirts and being surrounded by his
5collection of tiki mugs, which was a reflection of his joyful,
6easygoing spirit; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau was a devoted uncle, a loyal
8friend, and a kind soul who made those around him feel valued
9and heard; he was known for his intellect, integrity, and
10service to his community; he will be remembered for his gentle
11nature, humility, and quiet strength; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau was preceded in death by his
13father; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Luke Stremlau is survived by his mother, Lucy
15Williams; his siblings, Katie (Brandon) Burnette and Timothy
16Stremlau; and his nephew and niece, Benjamin Burnette and Cece
17Stremlau; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
19HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20we mourn the passing of Luke Martin Stremlau and extend our
21sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
22and loved him; and be it further
