HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, Hispanic Heritage Month is a month-long
3celebration of Hispanic and Latino history and culture from
4September 15 through October 15 and serves as an opportunity
5to recognize the many contributions made to the history and
6culture of Illinois and the United States, including vibrant
7art, popular and traditional foods, and much more; and
 
8    WHEREAS, The Hispanic and Latino community comprises
9approximately 19% of the State's population and drives the
10State's economy, with Hispanic-owned businesses generating
11nearly $25 billion in revenue in 2022; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Across the United States, Hispanic-owned
13businesses contribute over $800 billion to the American
14economy every year; and
 
15    WHEREAS, During National Hispanic Heritage Month, the
16extraordinary contributions of Hispanic-American citizens past
17and present are recognized, and their vibrant spirit,
18unyielding resilience, and inspiring commitment to our shared
19American values is honored; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
21HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we declare September 15, 2025 through October 15, 2025 as
2Hispanic Heritage Month in the State of Illinois; and be it
3further
 
4    RESOLVED, That we recognize the resounding strength and
5success of the Hispanic-American community, and we honor their
6tremendous contributions to our culture, economy, and future;
7and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That we encourage all residents to participate
9in activities, ceremonies, and educational programs that honor
10the achievements and contributions of Hispanic and Latino
11Americans.
