HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate FamilyCore on the 
4occasion of its 125th anniversary of service to the City of 
5Peoria and the surrounding areas; and
 
6    WHEREAS, FamilyCore, originally known as Associated 
7Charities and Philanthropies, was established in the Assembly 
8Room of Peoria City Hall in 1900; the agency then became the 
9Family Welfare Association of Peoria in 1935, evolving into 
10Child and Family Services in 1939; most recently, the agency 
11began operating as FamilyCore in 2010; and
 
12    WHEREAS, FamilyCore, no matter its name, has remained 
13focused on pursuing its mission of "Strengthening Families for 
14a Stronger Community"; and
 
15    WHEREAS, FamilyCore has continued to provide services to 
16more than 17,000 clients and families every year, and the 
17agency's service profile has grown to include adoption, 
18counseling, foster care, single parent programming, youth 
19outreach, anger management, adoption preservation, and foster 
20parent resources; and
 
21    WHEREAS, FamilyCore will continue its pursuit of

1instilling hope by creating the right balance of resources and 
2care to foster and equip healthy, productive children and 
3families; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
5HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6we congratulate FamilyCore on achieving its 125th anniversary, 
7and we thank the agency for its continued efforts to promote 
8safe environments for children and families in the City of 
9Peoria and the surrounding areas; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to FamilyCore as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
