HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to commend the China General Chamber of Commerce Chicago (CGCC Chicago) for its continued efforts to promote the fostering of bilateral economic and cultural exchange between the United States and China; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 2015 and rooted in the Midwest, CGCC Chicago enables investment and trade between American and Chinese industries across the United States and promotes job creation, economic growth and development, and cultural exchange by providing resources, networking opportunities, and advocacy for policies that support strong business relationships; and

WHEREAS, Today, CGCC Chicago has become the largest and most influential membership-based, nonprofit, U.S.-China business organization based in the Midwest; and

WHEREAS, The 200-plus members of CGCC Chicago have facilitated nearly $23 billion in direct investments into the United States, including the creation of 45,000 American jobs; and

WHEREAS, CGCC Chicago has previously been acknowledged by the City of Chicago, which recognized the organization for the impact its significant contributions made towards advancing U.S.-China economic ties, proclaiming the declaration of CGCC Chicago Impact Day on November 20, 2023; and

WHEREAS, CGCC Chicago hosts an annual gala to highlight opportunities and discuss challenges regarding economic and cultural exchange between the United States and China, and it has welcomed more than 6,400 business executives, investors, government officials, and academic leaders to its galas over the years; and

WHEREAS, On November 13, 2025, CGCC Chicago will host the CGCC Chicago 9th Annual Gala under the theme, "Apply, Advance, Achieve - Driving Forward Together", and the organization will work to advance dialogue and cooperation by hosting forums on agriculture, artificial intelligence, and building cross-cultural bridges in economic partnerships; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we commend the China General Chamber of Commerce Chicago (CGCC Chicago) for its work in facilitating economic cooperation and cultural exchange between the United States and China; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to CGCC Chicago Chairman Pin Ni and Executive Director Jie Li as an expression of our esteem and respect.
