| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Juju |
| 4 | | Lien, who passed away on November 3, 2025; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Juju Lien was born in China and raised in Taiwan; |
| 6 | | she graduated from Fu Jen Catholic University in Taipei; and |
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Juju Lien retired in 2020 after 21 years of |
| 8 | | service with the Social Security Administration; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Juju Lien was a community activist dedicated to |
| 10 | | providing social services and advocating for equal justice for |
| 11 | | Chicago's Asian American refugees and immigrants; she served |
| 12 | | as the executive director of the Chinese Mutual Aid |
| 13 | | Association and later held the same role at the Asian American |
| 14 | | Institute (now Asian Americans Advancing Justice); she was |
| 15 | | also a advocate for gender equality and was involved with the |
| 16 | | Chicago Foundation for Women since its inception in 1985; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Juju Lien kept her friends very close and loved |
| 18 | | to host and cook for them, and she was a source of humor and |
| 19 | | inspiration to almost every person she met; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Juju Lien was preceded in death by her husband of |
