HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of Illinois House of Representatives
3seek to recognize and honor individuals who have demonstrated
4exceptional leadership, dedication, and service to their
5communities and professions; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Tonya S. Hill, a resident of Catlin, has
7exemplified these qualities through her extensive career in
8business development, philanthropy, and community service; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Tonya Hill has over 35 years of professional
10experience, including her current role as executive director
11of the Danville Area Community College Foundation, where she
12has provided exemplary leadership in fundraising, grant
13development, and community engagement to support educational
14opportunities; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Tonya Hill has held numerous leadership positions
16in the financial and business sectors, including market
17president and commercial relationship manager at Old National
18Bank, trust officer and client advisor at Old National Trust
19Company, and financial associate at A.G. Edwards, where she
20demonstrated her expertise in business development, client
21relations, and financial planning; and

1    WHEREAS, Tonya Hill has also contributed to the success of
2a number of organizations, including Walgreens Corporate -
3Accounting Office and Cellular One of East Central Illinois,
4where she showcased her skills in management, training, and
5operational efficiency; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Tonya Hill has been a tireless advocate for her
7community, serving on numerous boards and committees,
8including the Danville Noon Rotary Club, Vermilion Advantage,
9WorkSource Enterprises, and the Covington Business
10Association, among others; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Tonya Hill has held leadership roles in many of
12these organizations, including serving as president of the
13Danville Noon Rotary Club, vice chair and president of
14WorkSource Enterprises, and treasurer of Vermilion Advantage,
15demonstrating her commitment to improving the lives of those
16in her community; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Tonya Hill's dedication to her community has been
18further exemplified by her participation in initiatives such
19as the "Do Something!" project to pay it forward in Vermilion
20County and her advocacy for healthcare organizations such as
21OSF Healthcare and Presence United Samaritan Medical Center
22Foundation; and

1    WHEREAS, Tonya Hill has been recognized for her
2contributions to philanthropy and community service, including
3her involvement with the Association of Fundraising
4Professionals, the Danville Boys & Girls Club, and the
5Danville Library Foundation, where she has chaired numerous
6events and initiatives; she has previously been recognized by
7the Danville Noon Rotary Club as a Paul Harris Fellow, and she
8is to receive the 2025 Vocational Service Award; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Tonya Hill's leadership, vision, and unwavering
10commitment to her community have made a lasting impact on the
11lives of countless individuals and organizations; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Tonya Hill is a proud graduate of Eastern
13Illinois University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in
14Career and Organizational Studies, and Danville Area Community
15College, where she earned an Associate in Applied Science and
16was recognized as Secretary of the Year in 1993; therefore, be
17it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
19HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20we commend Tonya S. Hill for her outstanding contributions to
21her community and her profession, and we extend our heartfelt
22gratitude for her service; and be it further
