HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Dixon High School 
4boys cross country team, the Dukes, on winning the 2025 
5Illinois High School Association Class 2A state championship; 
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, The Dukes defeated Mahomet High School on 
8November 8, 2025 with 115 team points to secure their second 
9state championship in program history; and
 
10    WHEREAS, The Dukes are led by Head Coach Simon Thorpe and 
11Assistant Coaches Aidan Johnson and Evan Thorpe; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The Dukes are seniors Westin Conatser, Andrew 
13Cover, Andrew Osborn, Daniel Ramirez, Keegan Shirley, Kohlson 
14Stumpf, and Noah Terviel, juniors Dean Geiger, Brody Hopper, 
15Deaglan Taylor, and Averick Wiseman, and freshmen Jense 
16Atkinson, Alonzo Bautista, Ethan Carter, Abram Garcia, Jaron 
17Greve, and Jacob Wendt; and
 
18    WHEREAS, The Dukes' state medalists included Dean Geiger 
19(14th) and Averick Wiseman (20th); therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE

1HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
2we congratulate the Dixon High School boys cross country team, 
3the Dukes, on winning the 2025 Illinois High School 
4Association Class 2A state championship and wish them many 
5more successful seasons; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the Dukes' players and coaches as a symbol of our 
8respect and esteem.
