| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Bob Sehring on the |
| 4 | | occasion of his retirement as chief executive officer of OSF |
| 5 | | HealthCare in April 2026; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Bob Sehring, who earned a Bachelor of Business |
| 7 | | Administration in public accounting from Hofstra University in |
| 8 | | Uniondale, New York, held various executive positions with |
| 9 | | Aetna, New York Life, and Metropolitan Life Insurance prior to |
| 10 | | joining OSF Healthcare; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Bob Sehring joined OSF HealthCare as vice |
| 12 | | president for Business Support Services for OSF HealthPlans, |
| 13 | | Inc. in 2002, and he was promoted to chief executive officer of |
| 14 | | that organization in 2004; he proceeded to be appointed chief |
| 15 | | officer of Ministry Services in 2013, which he followed by |
| 16 | | being named chief executive officer of the Central Region for |
| 17 | | OSF HealthCare in 2015, ultimately becoming chief executive |
| 18 | | officer of the organization in October 2017; and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Under Bob Sehring's leadership, OSF HealthCare |
| 20 | | grew to a 16-hospital health system and restructured to an |
| 21 | | integrated delivery system for the communities it serves, and |
| 22 | | that growth included extending its reach and services into the |

| 1 | | metro Chicago market and creating a digital health operating |
| 2 | | unit branded OSF OnCall, which delivers seamless navigation to |
| 3 | | the care and services of patients; he further oversaw the |
| 4 | | establishment of a robust oncology service line, including the |
| 5 | | construction of the OSF Cancer Institute in Peoria, which |
| 6 | | opened in early 2024 and provides proton beam therapy, |
| 7 | | becoming only the second center of its kind in the State; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Bob Sehring has championed innovation not only in |
| 9 | | health care but also in economic and community development, |
| 10 | | serving as board chair of Distillery Labs, where he played a |
| 11 | | pivotal leadership role in advancing entrepreneurship in the |
| 12 | | City of Peoria by supporting startups, fostering innovation, |
| 13 | | and helping position Peoria as a growing hub for technology, |
| 14 | | business development, and talent attraction; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Bob Sehring's service has strengthened the |
| 16 | | economic vitality of Peoria through job creation, workforce |
| 17 | | development, community investment, and sustained collaboration |
| 18 | | across the public and private sector; and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Bob Sehring has delivered the resurgence of |
| 20 | | Downtown Peoria through his leadership in developing the OSF |
| 21 | | HealthCare Ministry Headquarters, which saved a 1905 |
| 22 | | department store building from demolition and, as one of the |
| 23 | | largest historic renovation projects in State history, |

| 1 | | transformed the location into a thriving hub for Peoria's |
| 2 | | largest employer; and |
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of Bob Sehring's tenure, OSF |
| 4 | | HealthCare has achieved remarkable milestones, including |
| 5 | | attaining strategic growth through mergers and acquisitions, |
| 6 | | serving many communities with hospitals and healthcare |
| 7 | | facilities, providing care for more than 1 million patients |
| 8 | | per year, demonstrating strong leadership through the pandemic |
| 9 | | and the post impacts it had on the healthcare industry, and |
| 10 | | maintaining an unwavering commitment to rural health care; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Through Bob Sehring's work and guidance, OSF |
| 12 | | Healthcare has flourished, ensuring the health system remains |
| 13 | | a leader in exceeding expectations of its patients and |
| 14 | | advances in clinical excellence; therefore, be it |
| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 16 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 17 | | we congratulate Bob Sehring on his retirement as chief |
| 18 | | executive officer of OSF HealthCare, and we thank him for his |
| 19 | | years of service and dedication to the organization; and be it |
