HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Bentlee Lawrenz of 
4Montmorency Elementary School in Rock Falls on winning the 
52025 Illinois Elementary School Association's (IESA) 3A Boys 
6Cross Country State Championship; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Bentlee Lawrenz won the individual 3A Boys IESA 
8State Championship on October 18, 2025 in Normal with a time of 
910:14.9; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Bentlee Lawrenz's time equates to a 5:07 minute 
11per mile pace on the challenging two-mile course and was the 
12fastest time across all four IESA classes; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bentlee Lawrenz winning a state championship is a 
14testament to his hard work and dedication and reflects the 
15commitment and teamwork instilled by the coaching staff and 
16the support from family and the community; and
 
17    WHEREAS, The Illinois Elementary School Association 
18organizes 19 state final events each year, showcasing the 
19talents of over 500,000 student-athletes across Illinois, and 
20to emerge victorious in such a competitive landscape speaks 
21volumes about Bentlee Lawrenz's determination; therefore, be

2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
3HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
4we congratulate Bentlee Lawrenz on winning the 2025 Illinois 
5Elementary School Association's (IESA) 3A Boys Cross Country 
6State Championship, and we wish him many more successful 
7seasons; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Bentlee Lawrenz as an expression of our esteem 
10and respect.
