HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James
4Dean "Jim" Bolin of Casey, who passed away on January 27, 2026;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Jim Bolin was born to Everett and Judy Kay Bolin
7in Terre Haute, Indiana on September 23, 1964; he graduated
8from Casey High School in 1982; he married Diane Ruth Lacey at
9the First Baptist Church in Casey on August 2, 1985; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jim Bolin became a carpenter upon his graduation
11and worked at his family's sandblasting and paint shop that
12would later become Bolin Enterprises; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jim Bolin sought to attract visitors to his
14hometown by constructing many of the "world's largest
15objects", including wind chimes, a rocking chair, a mailbox,
16clogs, and a golf tee and club, among many other big items; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jim Bolin was a man whose life was guided by his
18faith and expressed through a deep love for people and the
19Casey community; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Jim Bolin is survived by his wife of 40 years,

1Diane Bolin; his children, Jessica (Troy) Prater and Drew
2(Maurah) Bolin; and his grandchildren, Jameson, Merritt, and
3Winslet Bolin; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6we mourn the passing of James Dean "Jim" Bolin and extend our
7sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
8and loved him; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Jim Bolin as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
