| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate the Oak Prairie Middle |
| 4 | | School's cheerleading team, the Bulldogs, on winning the 2026 |
| 5 | | Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Class 1A state |
| 6 | | cheerleading tournament; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, The Bulldogs competed against 29 out of the 96 |
| 8 | | teams at this year's tournament held at the Peoria Civic |
| 9 | | Center on February 11, 2026, where they set a record for the |
| 10 | | highest raw score in Class 1A history with a score of 90.48; |
| 11 | | and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, The Bulldogs winning the Class 1A state |
| 13 | | tournament was the conclusion to an already successful season, |
| 14 | | where they finished in first place five times and second place |
| 15 | | twice, while competing against both medium and large division |
| 16 | | teams; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, The Bulldogs began training in March of 2025, |
| 18 | | dedicating themselves to hard work and countless hours of |
| 19 | | practice for nearly a year, which is evident through their |
| 20 | | victories throughout the season and record-breaking |
| 21 | | performance in the state tournament; and
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, The Bulldogs are led by Head Coach Summer |
| 2 | | Garrett; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, The Bulldogs include sixth graders Bliss |
| 4 | | Penzkofer, Emily Rolewicz, Giuliana Roti-Glynn, Alessandra |
| 5 | | Tran, and Milania Pacione, seventh graders Alayna Garrett, |
| 6 | | Finley Harms, Luciana Rodriguez, and Delaney Sheehan, and |
| 7 | | eighth graders Layla Brandt, Jade Leis, and Lilly Pietka; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, The Bulldogs have brought a sense of pride and |
| 9 | | accomplishment to their families, friends, school, and |
| 10 | | community with their successful season; therefore, be it
|
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 12 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 13 | | we congratulate the Oak Prairie Middle School's cheerleading |
| 14 | | team, the Bulldogs, on winning the 2026 Illinois Elementary |
| 15 | | School Association (IESA) Class 1A state cheerleading |
| 16 | | tournament; and be it further

| 17 | | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be |
| 18 | | presented to Head Coach Summer Garrett and members of the |
| 19 | | Bulldogs' cheerleading team as a symbol of our esteem and |
| 20 | | respect. |
