HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Treatment Alternatives for Stronger Communities (TASC) on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, TASC is an Illinois-based nonprofit organization founded in 1976 to reduce justice involvement and its consequences by providing coordinated, evidence-based services to individuals with behavioral health and social service needs; and

WHEREAS, TASC operates at the intersection of health and the criminal legal system and is a valued and trusted partner to both systems, delivering interventions that promote recovery, reduce recidivism, strengthen families, and enhance public safety; and

WHEREAS, TASC is licensed as a Designated Program under Illinois statute and administrative rule, authorizing it to conduct court-approved assessments, referrals, case management, monitoring, and service coordination, in compliance with state standards governing professional practice, accountability, data reporting, and quality assurance; and

WHEREAS, TASC provides a continuum of services, including criminal justice diversion, drug and specialty court support, reentry and community supervision services, substance use disorder treatment coordination, family and youth intervention programs, Specialized Case Management™, substance use disorder treatment, and housing stabilization and supportive housing navigation; and

WHEREAS, TASC has expanded its service delivery through deflection, which redirects individuals away from arrest and deeper system involvement by connecting them to treatment, behavioral health services, housing resources, and community-based supports at the earliest point of law enforcement contact; and

WHEREAS, TASC, through its Center for Health and Justice, provides state, national, and international leadership in research, policy development, training, and technical assistance, translating evidence into effective justice and health system practices; and

WHEREAS, TASC addresses key social drivers of health, including poverty, trauma, housing instability, and access to care, through individualized and system-level strategies that improve long-term outcomes for participants and communities; and

WHEREAS, The impact of TASC is made possible by its dedicated staff, whose professionalism, expertise, and commitment to service support thousands of individuals each year in achieving recovery, stability, and successful community reintegration; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Treatment Alternatives for Stronger Communities (TASC) on its 50th anniversary, thank TASC for its significant contributions to justice reform, public health, and community well-being in Illinois, and wish the organization continued success in advancing effective, accountable, and compassionate alternatives to incarceration; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Treatment Alternatives for Stronger Communities as an expression of our esteem and respect.
