HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Teutopolis High 
4School boys golf team, the Wooden Shoes, on winning the 2025 
5Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 1A State 
6Championship; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The Wooden Shoes claimed their championship, the 
8first golf team in school history to do so, at the Prairie 
9Vista Golf Course in Bloomington from October 10 to October 
1011, 2025; and
 
11    WHEREAS, The Wooden Shoes shot 623 over the weekend, 
12claiming victory over Fulton High School, Riverdale High 
13School (Port Byron), Westminster Christian School-Harvest 
14Christian Academy (Elgin), Timothy Christian Schools 
15(Elmhurst), Father McGivney Catholic High School (Glen 
16Carbon), Pittsfield High School, and Prairie Central High 
17School (Fairbury); and
 
18    WHEREAS, Wooden Shoes' senior Coen Pennington won an 
19individual medal during the competition, sharing second place 
20for his score of 146; and
 
21    WHEREAS, The Wooden Shoes are led by Head Coach Mike

1Wilson and Assistant Coaches Manny Wei and Leonard Westendorf; 
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, The Wooden Shoes are Matthew Habing, Owen Kremer, 
4Lane Ohnesorge, Coen Pennington, Kade Pennington, Landyn 
5Thoele, Eli Weber, and Isaac Weber; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we congratulate the Teutopolis High School boys golf team, the 
9Wooden Shoes, on winning the 2025 Illinois High School 
10Association (IHSA) Class 1A State Championship, and we wish 
11them many more successful seasons; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
13presented to the Wooden Shoes' players and coaches as a symbol 
14of our respect and esteem.
