| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Judy Kay |
| 4 | | Thompson of Godfrey, who passed away on March 24, 2026; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Judy Thompson was born to Paul Godfrey and Eva |
| 6 | | (Mandorca) Fortschneider in Alton on June 7, 1949; she married |
| 7 | | Larry Lynn Thompson at St. Mary's Catholic Church on November |
| 8 | | 21, 1969; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Judy Thompson had a deep love for education and |
| 10 | | began working at Godfrey's St. Ambrose School in 1978, where |
| 11 | | she spent many years as a Kindergarten teacher and then taught |
| 12 | | computer classes at all grade levels until her retirement in |
| 13 | | 2013; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Judy Thompson enjoyed music and classic cars; she |
| 15 | | was involved with her church, the Rotary Club, and the Alton |
| 16 | | Water Ski Club, where she served as show director and |
| 17 | | performed; above all, she loved her husband, children, |
| 18 | | grandchildren, and friends, and she often shared stories of |
| 19 | | her children and grandchildren's achievements; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Judy Thompson is survived by her husband, Larry; |
| 21 | | her daughter, Jennifer Lynn (Scott) Weiner; her son, John |
