HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Decatur Catholic 
4Athletics 8th grade girls volleyball team, the Bulldogs, on 
5winning the Illinois Elementary School Association 2026 Class 
62A State Championship; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The Bulldogs defeated Morrisonville Elementary 
8School in strait sets, winning 26-24 in the first and 25-22 in 
9the second to secure the first ever state title for the Decatur 
10Catholic Athletics organization; and
 
11    WHEREAS, The Bulldogs compiled a season record of 28 wins 
12and 2 losses on their way to the championship; and
 
13    WHEREAS, The Bulldogs consist of student-athletes from 
14Holy Family Catholic School and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic 
15School; and
 
16    WHEREAS, The Bulldogs are led by Head Coach Nick 
17Blackburn, Assistant Coach Kristi Morrell, Bookkeeper Zach 
18Layton, Athletic Director Trevor DuPont, Holy Family Catholic 
19School Principal Bryan Kenney, and Our Lady of Lourdes 
20Catholic School Principal Jenny Brummer; and

1    WHEREAS, The Bulldogs are Frankie Schook, Kylie Ramey, 
2Livia Wherley, Leah Payne, Hannah Layton, Reese Robinson, 
3Tempe Peitz, Lola Douglass, Gretta Morrell, Julianne Brummer, 
4Katelyn Danko, Phoebe Sloan, Lauren Pena, and Piper Morrell; 
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we congratulate the Decatur Catholic Athletics 8th grade girls 
9volleyball team, the Bulldogs, on winning the Illinois 
10Elementary School Association 2026 Class 2A State 
11Championship, and we wish them many more successful seasons; 
12and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
14presented to the Bulldogs' players and coaches as a symbol of 
15our respect and esteem.
