HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, Water is an essential resource for sustaining 
3life, promoting public health, and ensuring economic 
4prosperity in Illinois; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Illinois is uniquely situated as the nucleus of 
6the great Midwest and can demonstrate stewardship in facing 
7ongoing challenges related to water, including lead in water, 
8infrastructure needs, and emerging water quality issues, which 
9require immediate and sustained attention; and
 
10    WHEREAS, The International Association of Plumbing and 
11Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is allied with plumbers and 
12manufacturers in Illinois, playing a critical role in 
13addressing water-related challenges by advancing safe and 
14sustainable water systems through the education and advocacy 
15for clean drinking water; and
 
16    WHEREAS, March4Water Month will serve as a platform for 
17communities, organizations, and governmental agencies to raise 
18awareness about water conservation, equitable access to clean 
19and safe drinking water, and the importance of investing in 
20water infrastructure and sustainability efforts; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Community engagement and education are critical

1to fostering a culture of water stewardship and advancing 
2innovative solutions to Illinois's water challenges; and
 
3    WHEREAS, The designation of March as March4Water Month 
4highlights the collective need for action, collaboration, and 
5advocacy among policymakers, stakeholders, and residents of 
6Illinois; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
8HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
9we declare March of 2026 to be March4Water Month in the State 
10of Illinois; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That we encourage all Illinoisans to participate 
12in activities and programs during March4Water Month to promote 
13awareness, education, and actions that prioritize water as a 
14vital resource for the state's future; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
16delivered to the International Association of Plumbing and 
17Mechanical Officials.
