| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Peoria's Manual High |
| 4 | | School boys basketball team, the Rams, on winning the |
| 5 | | 2025-2026 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 2A |
| 6 | | State Championship; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, The City of Peoria has a rich history of |
| 8 | | basketball prominence that dates back to the beginning of |
| 9 | | organized high school sports in Illinois; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, The Rams renewed this tradition, capturing the |
| 11 | | 2025-2026 IHSA Class 2A State Championship with a 60-55 |
| 12 | | victory over the Quincy Notre Dame High School boys basketball |
| 13 | | team, the Raiders, on March 14, 2026; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, The Rams' impressive win clinched the team's |
| 15 | | first state title in 29 years, its sixth in program history, |
| 16 | | and a state-leading 18th state trophy overall; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, The fifth-placed Rams accumulated 25 wins and |
| 18 | | nine losses during the 2025-2026 season; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, The Rams won its sectional final and |
| 20 | | super-sectional matchups by an average of 25 points per game |
|

| 1 | | on the team's way to making its 25th state finals appearance in |
| 2 | | program history; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, The Rams are led by Head Coach Marvin Jordan and |
| 4 | | his coaching staff, including Rolando Brown, Paul Burse, |
| 5 | | Demarkoe Grayer, Toriano Hollie, Ron Ingram, and Aaron Krause, |
| 6 | | and the team is also assisted by Ricky Baker and Ethan Houge; |
| 7 | | and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, The members of the 2025-2026 Rams include Rico |
| 9 | | Booker, Jaquan Brown, Ladon Carter, Detayveon Hayes-Foreman, |
| 10 | | Kameron Hughes, Joshua Humbles, Anarius Jackson, Percy Norris, |
| 11 | | Reginald "Reggie" Postlewaite, Jaemel Shipp, Dyerekiss |
| 12 | | Shumate, Johnny Ray Sims-Rickmon, Tahj Tolliver, and Jusiah |
| 13 | | Williams; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the members of the |
| 15 | | Illinois House of Representatives honor these student-athletes |
| 16 | | for all of the hard work, dedication, teamwork, and |
| 17 | | perseverance that they demonstrated throughout the season both |
| 18 | | on and off the court; therefore, be it
