HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to commend Our Savior Lutheran Church's 
4Breakfast with Baby, a faith-based ministry, for serving 
5families with children up to 36 months old in Carol Stream and 
6the surrounding communities of DuPage and Kane counties; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Breakfast with Baby began in October 2019, with 
8the program experiencing significant growth in 2020 during the 
9COVID-19 pandemic, supporting an average of 110 families per 
10month; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Breakfast with Baby is made possible by a 
12dedicated team of volunteers and generous community donations 
13that enable the ministry to provide essential physical and 
14spiritual care to economically disadvantaged families; and
 
15    WHEREAS, On the third Saturday of each month, Breakfast 
16with Baby provides a healthy breakfast to participating 
17families along with diapers, baby wipes, clothing, and other 
18necessary items; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Breakfast with Baby also distributes new and 
20gently used baby items to help young parents meet their daily 
21needs; and

1    WHEREAS, In 2025 alone, Breakfast with Baby supported 
21,303 local families and provided more than 74,000 diapers at 
3no cost; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Through its mission to share the Lutheran faith's 
5love and strengthen growing families, Breakfast with Baby 
6continues to build a healthier and more connected community; 
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
9HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we commend Our Savior Lutheran Church's Breakfast with Baby 
11ministry for its outstanding service to families in DuPage and 
12Kane counties; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to the leadership of Breakfast with Baby as an 
15expression of our respect and appreciation.
