| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Superintendent of Schools |
| 4 | | Dr. Lynn Glickman on her retirement from Community |
| 5 | | Consolidated School District (CCSD) 46 at the end of the |
| 6 | | 2025-2026 school year; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Glickman served as an educator and |
| 8 | | administrator in several districts before joining CCSD 46 as |
| 9 | | superintendent in 2019, where she has led the district with |
| 10 | | integrity and a commitment to collaboration; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, During her tenure, Dr. Glickman prioritized |
| 12 | | facility planning and oversaw transformative initiatives, |
| 13 | | including the district's first two-way dual language program; |
| 14 | | and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Glickman demonstrated strong fiscal |
| 16 | | responsibility by guiding the district through the successful |
| 17 | | March 2024 referendum to address capital and safety needs; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Glickman significantly improved district |
| 19 | | transparency and communication by launching a modern website |
| 20 | | and new community engagement tools; and
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Glickman provided steady leadership |
| 2 | | throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, managing the immediate shift |
| 3 | | to remote learning in March 2020 and the safe reopening of |
| 4 | | schools for the 2021-2022 school year; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Under Dr. Glickman's leadership, the district |
| 6 | | used pandemic relief funds to address unfinished learning, |
| 7 | | resulting in multilingual students in CCSD 46 achieving a |
| 8 | | faster academic recovery than students statewide; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Glickman effectively managed the crisis |
| 10 | | following a significant facility disaster at Grayslake Middle |
| 11 | | School in 2024, successfully relocating over 600 students and |
| 12 | | staff to a new location in just four days; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Glickman has left a lasting legacy of |
| 14 | | stability, progress, and educational equity through periods of |
| 15 | | immense change; therefore, be it
|
| 16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 17 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 18 | | we congratulate Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lynn Glickman on |
| 19 | | her retirement from Community Consolidated School District |
| 20 | | (CCSD) 46 and thank her for her dedicated service in |
| 21 | | empowering learners, creating equity, and cultivating |
| 22 | | community; and be it further
