| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Paul | ||||||
| 4 | Eugene Hartman of Savanna, who passed away on May 14, 2026; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Paul Hartman was born to Willard and Cornelia | ||||||
| 6 | (Voss) Hartman in Thomson on May 8, 1937; he attended Savanna | ||||||
| 7 | schools, graduating in 1955; he served as a seaman with the | ||||||
| 8 | United States Navy for four years; he married Marilyn Russel | ||||||
| 9 | on September 18, 1959; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Paul Hartman worked in the Public Works | ||||||
| 11 | Department for the City of Savanna, dedicating 46 years of | ||||||
| 12 | service to his craft; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Paul Hartman was deeply involved in Savanna and | ||||||
| 14 | the surrounding area, serving as a member of the Rotary Club of | ||||||
| 15 | Savanna, the Lions Club, the local Chamber of Commerce, the | ||||||
| 16 | Local Redevelopment Authority, the American Legion, the | ||||||
| 17 | Carroll County Housing Authority, and the Train Car Museum; he | ||||||
| 18 | also served as a city clerk and as a member of the Carroll | ||||||
| 19 | County Board; and | ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Paul Hartman enjoyed woodworking, spending time | ||||||
| 21 | on the computer, using his camera, and reading; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Paul Hartman built a life centered around family, | ||||||
| 2 | hard work, and community; above all, he loved his family, and | ||||||
| 3 | he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and | ||||||
| 4 | great-grandchildren; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Paul Hartman was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 6 | parents; his brothers, William Hartman and Kenneth (Caroline) | ||||||
| 7 | Hartman; his infant brothers, Rex Allen and Willard Jr.; and | ||||||
| 8 | his sister, Cora Stricker; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Paul Hartman is survived by his wife, Marilyn | ||||||
| 10 | Hartman; his children, Paula (Perry) Koehler, Yvonne (Lindon) | ||||||
| 11 | Dewey, Timothy (Melody) Hartman, Christopher (Michelle) | ||||||
| 12 | Hartman, and Eric (Karen) Hartman; 13 grandchildren; 23 | ||||||
| 13 | great-grandchildren; his siblings, Richard Hartman and Sharon | ||||||
| 14 | Orth; and his sister-in-law, Lolita Hartman; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 16 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 17 | we mourn the passing of Paul Eugene Hartman and extend our | ||||||
| 18 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
| 19 | and loved him; and be it further | ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 21 | presented to the family of Paul Hartman as an expression of our | ||||||
