HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Paul
4Eugene Hartman of Savanna, who passed away on May 14, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Hartman was born to Willard and Cornelia
6(Voss) Hartman in Thomson on May 8, 1937; he attended Savanna
7schools, graduating in 1955; he served as a seaman with the
8United States Navy for four years; he married Marilyn Russel
9on September 18, 1959; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Paul Hartman worked in the Public Works
11Department for the City of Savanna, dedicating 46 years of
12service to his craft; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Paul Hartman was deeply involved in Savanna and
14the surrounding area, serving as a member of the Rotary Club of
15Savanna, the Lions Club, the local Chamber of Commerce, the
16Local Redevelopment Authority, the American Legion, the
17Carroll County Housing Authority, and the Train Car Museum; he
18also served as a city clerk and as a member of the Carroll
19County Board; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Paul Hartman enjoyed woodworking, spending time
21on the computer, using his camera, and reading; and

1    WHEREAS, Paul Hartman built a life centered around family,
2hard work, and community; above all, he loved his family, and
3he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and
4great-grandchildren; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Hartman was preceded in death by his
6parents; his brothers, William Hartman and Kenneth (Caroline)
7Hartman; his infant brothers, Rex Allen and Willard Jr.; and
8his sister, Cora Stricker; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Paul Hartman is survived by his wife, Marilyn
10Hartman; his children, Paula (Perry) Koehler, Yvonne (Lindon)
11Dewey, Timothy (Melody) Hartman, Christopher (Michelle)
12Hartman, and Eric (Karen) Hartman; 13 grandchildren; 23
13great-grandchildren; his siblings, Richard Hartman and Sharon
14Orth; and his sister-in-law, Lolita Hartman; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
16HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17we mourn the passing of Paul Eugene Hartman and extend our
18sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
19and loved him; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Paul Hartman as an expression of our
