HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ashley
4Nicole Stenson of St. Louis, Missouri, who passed away on May
58, 2026; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ashley Stenson was born to Marla Stenson and
7Marvin Forniss in St. Louis on February 5, 1984; she committed
8to her faith at an early age under the leadership of the late
9Rev. Dr. J.E. Turner in St. Louis; she attended schools in both
10St. Louis and Peoria, Illinois, and she completed her high
11school career by receiving her General Education Diploma; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ashley Stenson was a hardworking and dedicated
13woman who worked in a variety of fields, developing many
14skills throughout her life; most recently, she was employed at
15Devoted Healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia, where she served as a
16member outreach specialist; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Ashley Stenson never met a stranger, was known as
18the life of the party, and had a way of making everyone feel
19welcome, bringing laughter, warmth, and energy wherever she
20went; she was also deeply loyal to those she loved and had a
21special love for her children and grandchildren; and

1    WHEREAS, Ashley Stenson possessed a fun and infectious
2personality that brought joy to those around her, and she will
3be remembered for her vibrant spirit and kind heart; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Ashley Stenson was preceded in death by her
5father, Marvin Forniss; her brother, Antonio Stenson; her
6maternal great-grandparents, Eugene and Geraldine Stenson and
7Guy and Emma Lee Washington; and her paternal grandparents,
8Celestine Forniss and Reverend J.E. Turner; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ashley Stenson is survived by her mother, Marla
10Marbley; her sons, Ashton (Nick) Bramlett and Ira Johnson; her
11daughter, Kennedy Stenson; three grandchildren; her sisters,
12Angel Stenson and Andrea Marbley; her maternal grandmother,
13Mary Francis Turner; her grandfathers, Thomas Lee (Joanne)
14Cayson Sr. and Howard Forniss; and a host of aunts, uncles,
15nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
17HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
18we mourn the passing of Ashley Nicole Stenson and extend our
19sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
20and loved her; and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Ashley Stenson as an expression of
