HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Joseph Robert and Dorothy 
4Marie Geers on the occasion of their 70th wedding anniversary; 
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Joseph Geers and Dorothy (Woods) Geers, who both 
7came from farming families, were united in marriage in 
8Greenfield on June 16, 1956; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Following their union, Joseph and Dorothy Geers 
10moved to central Illinois, residing near Bloomington for 
11approximately 20 years, where he worked for IBM and she worked 
12for State Farm; and
 
13    WHEREAS, After their children had all graduated from high 
14school, Joseph and Dorothy Geers relocated to Asheville, North 
15Carolina; after a few years, they tried living in Florida for a 
16time before settling in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, where 
17they resided for several years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, In their 80s, Joseph and Dorothy Geers decided 
19they wanted to return to Illinois, and they currently reside 
20in Breese of Clinton County; and

1    WHEREAS, Joseph and Dorothy Geers are the parents of 
2three, Susan Kues, Dan Geers, and Jon Geers; the grandparents 
3of four, Ryan, Sara, Mary, and Allison; and the 
4great-grandparents of seven, Ava, Drake, Etta, Eli, Everen, 
5Oliver, and Cooper; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we congratulate Joseph Robert and Dorothy Marie Geers on 
9celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary, and we wish them 
10many more happy years together; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to Joseph and Dorothy Geers as an expression of our 
13esteem and respect.
