| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Caroleann Gallagher on |
| 4 | | her appointment as president of the Women's Bar Association of |
| 5 | | Illinois; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The Women's Bar Association of Illinois displays |
| 7 | | and practices a commitment to community, mentorship, and |
| 8 | | collective support of women in the legal profession and women |
| 9 | | everywhere who appreciate the impact of strength in advocacy; |
| 10 | | and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Caroleann Gallagher began her career in the legal |
| 12 | | profession upon receiving her law degree from the National |
| 13 | | University of Ireland, Galway and was admitted as a solicitor |
| 14 | | in Ireland in 2004; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Caroleann Gallagher immigrated to Chicago in 2009 |
| 16 | | to begin legal practice in the United States, becoming an |
| 17 | | active member of the Women's Bar Association of Illinois in |
| 18 | | 2011; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, In her service with the Women's Bar Association |
| 20 | | of Illinois, Caroleann Gallagher has served on various |
| 21 | | committees and on the Board of Directors with a focus on |
|

| 1 | | initiatives supporting mentorship, professional development, |
| 2 | | and community outreach for women across the State; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Caroleann Gallagher's service extends well beyond |
| 4 | | the courtroom and includes involvement in the Irish American |
| 5 | | community, where she has held positions with the Executive |
| 6 | | Committee of Ireland Network and as a founding member of |
| 7 | | Women's Ireland Network Chicago, which was established to |
| 8 | | bolster and connect women professionals; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Caroleann Gallagher has given back substantially |
| 10 | | to students at her former high school in Donegal, Ireland with |
| 11 | | the establishment of the annually awarded Coogan Gallagher |
| 12 | | Scholarship in 2022; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Caroleann Gallagher's excellence in the legal |
| 14 | | profession and substantial community involvement complement |
| 15 | | her orientation to detail, yielding success in compassionate |
| 16 | | advocacy for Illinoisans; therefore, be it
|
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 18 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 19 | | we congratulate Caroleann Gallagher on her appointment as |
| 20 | | president of the Women's Bar Association of Illinois; and be |
