HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Bonnie Lopez on the well-deserved occasion of having the Concordia Place Courtyard dedicated in her honor; and

WHEREAS, Bonnie Lopez and her husband, Dennis, have been proud and deeply rooted residents of the Avondale neighborhood in Chicago for 47 years, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to their local community; and

WHEREAS, Bonnie Lopez served as a tireless champion and community leader in bringing Concordia Place to the Avondale community in 2006; and

WHEREAS, Bonnie Lopez's remarkable record of community engagement and leadership spans multiple decades and vital neighborhood institutions, including serving as a dedicated parent member and community member on the Local School Council (LSC) for Carl Von Linne School for 33 years, on the Board of Directors for Near Northwest Arts Council for 20 years, and on the Advisory Board of Directors for Friends of Linne; and

WHEREAS, Beyond her organizational leadership, Bonnie Lopez is an accomplished artisan whose numerous gallery exhibits have been featured with the Illinois Artisan Shop in the James R. Thompson Center; and

WHEREAS, Concordia Place dedicated the Bonnie Lopez Courtyard to honor her incredible contributions and in recognition of her tireless community leadership; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Bonnie Lopez on the dedication of the Bonnie Lopez Courtyard at Concordia Place in Avondale, thank her for her decades of invaluable service to Concordia Place and the Avondale community, and wish her continued health and happiness; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Bonnie Lopez as an expression of our esteem and respect.
