| 1 | | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 191

| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 191 on page 1, |
| 3 | | immediately below line 14, by inserting the following: |
| 4 | | "(b) A public or nonpublic school, school district, |
| 5 | | transportation provider or contractor, or other entity |
| 6 | | operating a school bus shall provide written or verbal |
| 7 | | instruction concerning the availability and correct use of |
| 8 | | seat safety belts to student passengers and their parents or |
| 9 | | legal guardians. This includes instructing passengers on the |
| 10 | | correct use, fastening, and unfastening of seat safety belts. |
| 11 | | (c) Nothing in this Section requires a public or nonpublic |
| 12 | | school, school district, transportation provider or |
| 13 | | contractor, or other entity operating a school bus, including |
| 14 | | a bus driver, bus aide, volunteer, or other staff, to ensure |
| 15 | | that the seat safety belt or other restraint system is |
| 16 | | correctly adjusted and fastened."; and
