AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1327 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1327 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by 
5adding Section 370c.5 as follows:
 
6    (215 ILCS 5/370c.5 new)
7    Sec. 370c.5. Parity in benefits under disability income 
8insurance. On and after January 1, 2028, every insurer that 
9amends, delivers, issues, or renews a group or individual 
10policy or certificate of disability income insurance in this 
11State shall ensure that:
12        (1) the benefits for disability resulting from mental, 
13    emotional, nervous, or substance use disorders or 
14    conditions are no more restrictive than the benefits 
15    resulting from all other medical conditions covered by the 
16    policy or certificate, and there are no separate

1    requirements applicable only with respect to benefits for 
2    disability resulting from mental, emotional, nervous, or 
3    substance use disorders or conditions; and
4        (2) the limitations on the duration of benefit 
5    payments or other coverage limitations applicable to 
6    disability resulting from mental, emotional, nervous, or 
7    substance use disorders or conditions are no more 
8    restrictive than the benefits available for disability 
9    resulting from other physical conditions covered by the 
10    policy, and there are no separate payment limitations that 
11    may be applied specifically with respect to disability 
12    resulting from mental, emotional, nervous, or substance 
13    use disorders or conditions. 
 
14    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January
