AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1758

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1758 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Election Code is amended by adding Section 
51A-70 as follows:
 
6    (10 ILCS 5/1A-70 new)
7    Sec. 1A-70. Elections Special Projects Fund. The Elections 
8Special Projects Fund is created as a special fund in the State 
9treasury. Except as provided in Sections 1A-20 and 1A-50, any 
10federal grant reimbursements paid to the State Board of 
11Elections shall be deposited into the Fund. Subject to 
12appropriation, money in the Fund shall be used for purposes 
13consistent with Section 5 of Article III of the Illinois 
14Constitution. At the direction of the State Board of 
15Elections, the State Comptroller shall order transferred and 
16the State Treasurer shall transfer any money in the Fund on

1June 30, 2026, and the last day of every fiscal year 
2thereafter, that exceeds $1,000,000 from the Elections Special 
3Projects Fund to the General Revenue Fund. The State Board of 
4Elections shall direct any transfer required by this Section 
5no later than 30 days after the close of each fiscal year.
 
6    Section 10. The State Finance Act is amended by adding 
7Section 5.1030 as follows:
 
8    (30 ILCS 105/5.1030 new)
9    Sec. 5.1030. The Elections Special Projects Fund.".
