AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2001

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2001 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Auction License Act is amended by adding 
5Section 15-30 as follows:
 
6    (225 ILCS 407/15-30 new)
7    Sec. 15-30. In-person auctions; duties of an auctioneer. 
8An auctioneer shall do the following for any auction being 
9conducted in person:
10        (1) verify and certify that each consumer product 
11    being auctioned was produced, procured, purchased, or 
12    acquired in a lawful manner;
13        (2) alert local, regional, or State law enforcement 
14    agencies if the auctioneer suspects that a person or 
15    entity is selling or attempting to sell stolen goods to a 
16    resident of this State; and

1        (3) prevent a person or entity from using its auction 
2    services or other services if the auctioneer suspects that 
3    a person or entity is selling stolen goods.".
