    Amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code. Removes a requirement that at least one mental health examiner testify in person at an involuntary admission hearing.

1    AN ACT concerning mental health.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental
5Disabilities Code is amended by changing Section 3-807 as
6follows:
 
7    (405 ILCS 5/3-807)  (from Ch. 91 1/2, par. 3-807)
8    Sec. 3-807. No respondent may be found subject to
9involuntary admission on an inpatient or outpatient basis
10unless at least one psychiatrist, clinical social worker,
11clinical psychologist, advanced practice psychiatric nurse, or
12qualified examiner who has examined the respondent testifies
13in person at the hearing. The respondent may waive the
14requirement of the testimony subject to the approval of the
15court.
