2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2829, AS AMENDED, 
3with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment 
4No. 1, on page 2, line 8, after "excludes", by inserting "(1)"; 
5and
 
6on page 2, line 9, after "properties", by inserting "and (2) 
7the area bounded by Washington Street on the north, Third 
8Street on the east, Cook Street on the south, and Walnut Street 
9on the west"; and
 
10on page 3, immediately below line 17, by inserting the 
11following:
12        "(3) maintain the proper surroundings for a medical 
13    center and a related technology center in order to 
14    attract, stabilize, and retain within the District 
15    hospitals, clinics, research facilities, educational
