| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2857 on page 9, by |
| 3 | | replacing lines 16 through 21 with the following: |
| 4 | | "(m) A motor vehicle dealer in this State may, at the |
| 5 | | request of the purchaser, install a front registration plate |
| 6 | | mounting bracket on a motor vehicle that requires a front |
| 7 | | registration plate under Section 3-413. Any such installation |
| 8 | | shall be performed in accordance with the vehicle |
| 9 | | manufacturer's instructions or recommended procedures. A motor |
| 10 | | vehicle dealer who installs a front registration plate |
| 11 | | mounting bracket in accordance with the manufacturer's |
| 12 | | instructions or recommended procedures shall not be liable for |
| 13 | | any damage to the vehicle resulting from the installation, and |
| 14 | | such installation shall not constitute a modification that |
| 15 | | voids or otherwise affects any manufacturer warranty |
| 16 | | applicable to the vehicle. As used in this subsection, "motor |
| 17 | | vehicle dealer" means dealers subject to Section 5-101, 5-102, |
| 18 | | or 5-102.8.". |
